Scholarships Awarded

Scholarship WinnersMiddlesboro Lodge #119 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks recently awarded a total of $3,600 in scholarships to three graduating seniors from Middlesboro High School. Selected by a committee of professionals at the school to receive $1,200 each from the Elks were Julia Danielle Herron, Charles Bobby Partin, and Misti Collins.

Herron is the daughter of Jack and Tina Herron. She plans to attend Lindsey Wilson College in Pippa Passes, Kentucky and major in History and Criminal Justice.

Partin is the son of Michael and Charlene Partin. He plans to attend Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky but has not yet decided on a major.

Collins is the daughter of Billy and Judy Collins. She also plans to attend Union College and study Veterinary Medicine.

Elks Donate to Friends of the Shelter

firefox-gray Friends of the Bell County Animal Shelter, a non-profit animal welfare organization, works to reduce the number of homeless animals in Bell County. Realizing the importance of this work, Middlesboro Elks Lodge #119 recently donated $500 to Friends of the Shelter.
